Public Awareness Information:
If you see a crime report it! Call 911 and tell the operator what it is that you are witnessing. Always remain calm. Report suspicious activity too. If something looks out of the ordinary in your neighborhood, it probably is!

The K-9 Booth was a huge hit at the recent Community Day celebration. We set up a booth and distributed safety information involving reflective materials for runners and walkers. K-9 T-shirts were sold to help raise monies for ADDO's future training expenses. ADDO made his rounds on patrol and also had some pictures taken with event attendees. Look for our booth at the K-9 Car Cruise on Saturday September the 20th, 2008 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Bridgeville Fire Department on Commercial Street.
Chief Bogats, Jr. secured a grant for a new K-9 car. The Bridgeville Police got great news in June! We have been awarded a $25,000.00 grant through the PA. Department of Community and Economic Development. We owe alot of thanks to Senator John Pippy's Office for their untiring assistance in helping to keep public safety a key issue in our community. The vehicle will be road ready in the next couple of weeks and will be sporting a new look with a new light bar and additional graphics. The car will be a part of a five year cost savings project to the borough as we were able to also include the upgrade of a 5 year manufacture's warranty that covers most components of the car for the next 75,000 miles. The car was purchased at Woltz and Wind Ford.
Premise Alert System - Special Notice!
The Premise Alert System provides families with a uniform method to alert responders about special needs individuals. It also provides first responders with advance knowledge, allowing for quick and educated responses during a crisis, evacuations and disasters. The form is now available and provided free of charge to families here in Bridgeville through the DPW and MH/MR Case Managers and can be found at www.papremisealert.com or you may simply stop into the police department during regular business hours of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
M-F and ask Mary for one.
Once filled out and returned the form will be placed in a secure location and will be distributed to other first responders such as Southbridge EMS, the Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Department and the Allegheny County Dispatch Center. Just a way for us to say that we care!
Officer James Lancia, Jr. and his K-9 partner ADDO attended the NAPWDA National Training Conference in June in Indianapolis, IN. He preformed extremely well and was recertified in all aspects of his patrol function.
The Bridgeville Area Historical Society recently held its 6th Annual Art Contest including 283 entries of 3rd and 4th graders from Holy Child and South Fayette. Holy Child had secured the 2nd and 4th place finishers along with 6 honorable mentions: Below is a photo of the group with Chief Bogats, Jr., the participants and Bridgeville Councilwoman Mary Weise who helped coordinate the event. The 2nd Place winner was Niles Hand and the 4th Place winner was Deanna Barry. Congratulations on all of your hard work.
In the Spring of 2007 Chief Bogats donated 20 complete computers to the Holy Child School located on Station Street. Chief Bogats secured 20 desktops, 20 monitors, 20 keyboards and 20 mouse units from Highmark in Pittsburgh through a grant. Chief Bogats wanted all of the kids at the parochial school to have a chance at broadening their education and knowledge through the use of a computer. A computer lab was set up and is in continual use by all students.
